Meetings
1. The group shall meet to work on
projects at regularly scheduled times set by the Board with input from the society.
Those times shall be made clear at the beginning of each semester.
2. Sub-committees may also meet
and work according to their own schedules.
3.
Meeting of governing body shall be held at least bi-monthly.
4. Extraordinary general meetings shall be held to draw attention to
serious matters for which maximum attendance by members is required.
5. Annual general meeting (AGM) shall be held in the starting of odd
semester.
6. Any member of society with a
concern relating to the society or the Board may inform the Chairperson and the
issue shall be discussed at the next Board meeting. The Chairman shall promptly
report back to the member, and in the event that the member is not satisfied,
time shall be allotted at the next meeting to discuss the issue with the whole
group.

Article: VI - Election
1.
Elections shall be held at the beginning of each university year.
2.
Members for different committee shall be nominated by Faculty members and then
election shall be held.
3. Voting shall be done by secret
ballot. Absentee voting shall be done by written proxy.
4. Only paid-up members shall be allowed to vote.
5.
Membership privileges may be revised by a two-thirds majority vote of The ENERGIEA
Council.
6. A candidate shall secure an
office by a majority vote of the members. If a majority is not obtained by one
candidate in the initial vote, every candidate who received the largest number
of votes and every candidate who received the second largest number of votes
shall restate their positions, and there shall be a run-off. If the run-off
similarly does not yield a clear winner, then the decision on how to proceed with
elections shall be made by the Board minus candidates running for the position
in question, with input from the society.

Article: V - Duties
and Power of Governing Body
1.
The Chairperson shall be chief executive officer(s) of the society and shall
provide general guidance and direction of the society's activities and
programs. He/ she shall be responsible for locating workspace and ensuring that
rooms are reserved for meetings and other gatherings. He/ She shall have the authority
to bring resolution to all disputes affecting the functioning of the society
until the Board may resolve such disputes. The Chairperson is responsible for
arranging and presiding over Board meetings. The Chairperson is the official
liaison to the University administration, but may designate others to act in
his or her stead.
2.
The Vice Chairperson shall be responsible for assisting the Chairperson and
takes over the Chairperson’s duties when he or she is absent.
3. The General Secretary
takes minutes at all meetings of the society, files minutes and submits
required copies to all society members. He/ She is responsible for all society
correspondence and keeps copies of all correspondence on file. He/ She acts as
historian and maintains all records of the society.
4.
The Joint Secretary shall be responsible for assisting the General Secretary
and takes over the GS’s duties when he/ she is absent.
5.
The Treasurer shall be responsible for the financial matters of the society. The
responsibilities of the Treasurer shall include managing society accounts,
financial records,
and grant applications. The Treasurer should also explore ways to raise funds
for the society affairs.
6. The
Executive committee shall have full power to act on behalf of the society,
except where limited by this Constitution.

2. An individual shall become new
member of THE ENERGIEA after paying the given amount of fee and signing up in
the application form.
3. The membership of an applicant
shall be confirmed by the chairperson and the board members.
4. All the members of The ENERGIEA
shall be treated fairly regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender,
sexual orientation, financial situation or disability.
5.
Members shall have the right to attend meetings and vote in the elections of
the governing body as specified in the bylaws and to speak toward any or all
motions.

Article: II - Purpose
1. The purpose of this society is to promote Science and Technology by
supporting learners’ enthusiasm.
2.
THE ENERGIEA will create opportunities for students to plan and execute
projects for nationwide activities with an aim to promote interdisciplinary
cooperation for innovations.
3. To organise seminars/conferences and workshops on contemporary
research and development works in the field of Energy.
4.
Building strong communication
with the industries and institution in the field of energy.
5. Correlating energy with other fields
of Sciences and engineering like physics, chemistry, and nanotechnology in CUJ.
6. Organizing
awareness programs for the conservation of energy and minimize energy consumption.

The

ENERGIEA
is a Greek word. It was used first time by Aristotle to define the term energy.
